Started a few years back as the 2020 Challenge this program now extends into it's 6th flying season with a few hard core individuals successfully flying every month since the program started! All you have to do is fly once every month during the year, sounds easy but has proven very difficult as many pilots can attest too!

Ooops! I'm beginning to take some risks with my record of ALL SEASON FLYING. Put the June flight off through several really nice flying days, for one reason or another, until it was possible I wouldn't get one in

So, today I went out there with the resolve to do it! And I did

It was calm at my house and breezy out there, and at an odd angle! But no one else flying so I could handle using ALL of the INCREDIBLE AREA our field allows, and had a good time at that!

Decided to get my monthly flight in early, so went early! Still toooooo hot, but I did log two! (admittedly the first was practically straight up, and straight down, with a dead engine on take-off, but if there’s air under the tires, it’s a flight!). Second fight was actually recorded because I did all the standard maneuvers but was a dead stick landing also. But a really good one with a roll out and everything! Guess I better use a fresh bottle of fuel and tune it for fire-hot temperature because that’s all we’re gonna have this summer

July is done. Went out tonight to do some training but the wind definitely did not cooperate. They called for light winds and it decided to blow around 26 miles per hour. A couple of flights in with the trainer to check the repairs from the corn landing, all good now. The plane did wanted to go straight up with all the wind. Did do one flight with the Tiny Toni. Hopefully this wind is going to slow down soon.

Got the August flight in tonight. Temp wasn't too bad. Did some training, Rob soloed so it was a good training night. Daryl and I put up our racers to get a few laps in. Daryl was way too happy (he kicked my butt)

as his plane was quite a bit faster. After some discussion we decided I need to look into a better prop to make things a little more competitive. Only four more months to go!

Really close this month. Only five days left and rain forecast for last two! tried to get there earlier, but by the time I got the ducks (really cats) in a row it was 11:00. called Kelsey and he was looking at the same calendar/clock as I, so he came out two. I discovered again how easy it is to fly electric aircraft, just say "FLY" and wiggle your nose, and that's all there is to do. But I had to assemble the plane, fuel it, start it, pre-fight, and then do the deed! MAYBE this winter, I'll get one of the two I've got sitting in the garage down and fly them.
Anyway, we're both logged for August, and only four months to go! at least it should be cooler

September is done. Went to the field around 1:00. Doc was packing up to go home and i just missed seeing Gary. Daryl came out and got some flights in but that was it. A nice day to fly, although the winds were definitely higher than forecast (imagine that)

. Flew the jets around and had fun with the crosswind. It finally started to settle down around 3. With the temps getting lower, hopefully more members will be coming out to enjoy the field.

Well..... finally had luck at the beginning of the month! Kelsey and I were able to go early this month and got to fly in EXTREMELY LIGHT WIND! Nearly had to re-learn how!

No trouble for me but a little erratic run. More on that later. Kelsey had the servo screws back out of one and caused some wobble, but no consequence. Good day, perfect weather, and the field was beautiful! Glad I went, for sure!

October flight is finished. Had 2 flights last night. It was a little too breezy for training so Daryl and I did a few laps with our racers. Its a lot of fun. Also had a flight with my night flyer. Tried a bigger battery and the extra weight helped with its flying characteristics. Only two more months to go.

OCTOBER ALREADY? Got my October flight in today (in the wind). Glad I watched a different channel than Kelsey or I wouldn't have gone to the field! I thought it was only going to blow about 5-10 mph! He had to circumnavigate the globe to get there during the Czech festival! Had nearly EVERY route to the field blocked! Part of the day's entertainment was watching cars drive down Wagner Road and turn around to go back to Garth Brooks, to go north. EVEN a Wal Mart SEMI! He had to BACK all the way back!

Amazing how nobody believes anything OFFICIAL, LIKE AN 8 FEET TALL ELECTRONIC SIGN THAT SAYS ROAD CLOSED! It seems that Kelsey forgot his transmitter (because I called him so early, I guess) so he had to take a flight on the antique LT40 he built in 2000 and gave to me ages ago! Wonder how many hours it has on the airframe

Great day, but it was breezy. Good thing I know how to use the rudder! Valuable skill set for flying in Oklahoma

two more months to go
