Tried to get a few laps in last night during training. Received my new props and lighter batteries and was ready to give Daryl a run for his money. We both launched and it was on. As I was coming around the field to meet up with Daryl's plane I punched the throttle. Big improvement in speed. I was flying straight down the runway when my plane just exploded. The wing and power pod separated coming down within feet of each other. The battery and ECS were another matter. The battery ended up about 40 feet past the plane with the ECS about mid way between the two. I have been flying this plane for probably 3 years and the dowel that holds the plane and power pod together was a little loose. Well on this flight it decided it had enough was going to wiggle free, hence the explosion (the dowel was still in the plane half). I will be building another one starting tonight. These things are a lot of fun. If you haven't built one you should give it a try and come out to race.

Keith has a new racer built. Now our planes are closely speed matched. Great fun!
